The Beijing Foreign Investment Service
Center (BFISC) was set up in 1988 as a bureau-level institution
under the Beijing Municipal Government and is authorized by the Municipality
to serve foreign investors as well as Chinese entities looking for
foreign investors. BFISC is headed by Mr. Sun Chang Tai, Senior Economist
- Director.
It is the permanent working office of the Beijing Association of
Enterprises With Foreign Investment, the Beijing International
Investment Promotion Council, and the Beijing Foreign Invested
Enterprise Complaint Center and maintains Beijing's website for
the promotion of foreign investment. |

BFISC organizes major events related to the
investment promotion of Beijing Municipality and its many Districts. Major
events in 2001 included:
- International Symposium on Environmental Infrastructure
Projects in Beijing (June 28 & 29)
- The "5th Beijing-Hong Kong Symposium on
Economic Cooperation" (October 23 & 24)
BFISC regularly organizes meetings on behalf
of the Beijing Municipal Government to exchange ideas and information
with the leaders of the foreign business community in Beijing.

Apr 2002 BFISC co-organized "The Forum Between Leaders of the
Municipality and Representatives of Transnational Companies".
The Meeting was hosted by Mr. Jia Qingling (Secretary General),
Mr. Liu Qi (Mayor), Mr. Meng Xuenong and Mr. Zhang Mao (Vice
Mayors)

Vice

BFISC offers comprehensive consultation services
to foreign investors and Chinese organizations to review the projects
earmarked for foreign investment and identification of suitable local
partners for foreign investors and businesses.

closely with foreign chambers of commerce. On June 5, 2002 BFISC assisted
the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China to organize a broad
panel headed by vice mayor Liu Jingming to address the hot topic of
"Developing Beijing for the Olympics". About 200 attendants joined
the half-day event in Radisson SAS Hotel. |
