28 April 2002 - Beijing Nr. 10 Water Plant

A ceremony was held on Sunday morning 28 April in the Beijing Hotel for the initialing of the Project Agreements for the Beijing Nr. 10 Water Plant A Project. The foreign partners are Mitsubishi Corporation and Anglian Water Plc (UK) (also called "AN LIN Consortium"). The BOT project is valued at around US$ 200 million and will result in increased potable water supply for Beijing City.

It is one of the projects in water and sewage to improve the environment for the 2008 Summer Olympics. It will provide 500,000 m3/day at the plant in Ding Fu Zhuang (Chaoyang District) and the untreated water will come from Miyun Reservoir. The concession time is twenty years. It is 100% funded by foreign funds.
The international tender process started in July 1999 (prequalification call). Bids were submitted in late April 2000 by five groups of companies.

The UK Ambassador to China attended as well as key Beijing officials such as Mr. Lin Duo (director of Beijing Municipal Administration Commission) and Mr. Yan Zhongqiu, Deputy Secretary General of Beijing Municipality.
